Kindergarten Word Wall Wall of Fame!

We try really hard to get our students to learn 100 words in kindergarten! This is a bulletin board that we put up after Christmas in one of the main hallways of our schools. When a student learns 100, 200, or even 300+ words, their picture goes on the Word Wall Wall of Fame and they love it! They try really hard to get their picture on this wall and the staff enjoys looking at it as well!

Snowman Name Graph

My kids really enjoy doing the "Snowman Name Graph" activity. I think I found this activity from a Mailbox Magazine. We try to see who has the longest or the shortest name and my kids love it! This is an example of this years Snowman Name Graph. I had to add some blue to our poster because I have 24 kids this year!

Word Builders!!

I use POST IT Word Builder Notes to help my kids create words. I pasted the word builder notes on index cards and laminated them. I also wrote consonant and vowel names on separate cards for the beginning of the words. They put the two cards together and make words. They love it!

I think you can purchase the POST IT notes at Target, Walmart, or any Office store!

Math Centers

My kiddos love math centers. The picture above shows my kids rolling dice and recording their answers. They use the dice to create and solve addition problems.

The above picture is an example of one of our math centers, focusing on more/less. I created math mats and the students use different manipulatives to compare more and less. The students use whiteboard markers to count and write the numbers of the manipulatives.

Dr. Seuss Writing

This will be my first post that will contain an actual activity for all my fellow bloggers! I'm still learning how to link and post different things. Dr. Seuss' birthday is coming up and I really enjoy creating activities for the Dr. Seuss unit. This is a template for your favorite Dr. Seuss book! Hope you like it.. more to come soon!

Snow Day

Snow day... snow day!! It is snowing in Burlington and I am sure we will have a delay or snow day tomorrow. I am totally inspired by the kindergarten blogs that I am finding on pinterest. Here is a writing template I created for our snow day!

Does anyone know how I can save this as a google doc file or something so that I can share this with all of you? I want my followers to be able to download my documents because I am downloading tons of amazing documents from other bloggers!!

Blog Intro

I am super excited about my kindergarten blog!! I teach 23 krazy kindergarten students who keep me occupied all day!! I enjoy learning new things about them each and every day! I love finding new things to teach them! They really enjoy working on the smartboard and their ibooks! Their absolute favorite, right now, is Starfall. They love all of the games, activities, and stories on Starfall. It is a great website for phonics and number sense.
